Three key points when processing cast iron T slotted plates

The cast iron T slotted plate is a large casting, and the tonnage of the large cast iron T slotted plate can reach dozens of tons, so we should cooperate with the corresponding machine tool when processing. The following are three points we should pay attention to:

Machine tool adjustment

1). Adjust the height of the beam to an appropriate position according to the relative position of the machined surface of the cast iron T slotted plate and the tool.

2). Adjust the height of the two side tool holders to a position suitable for planing the two sides of the T slotted plate.

3). Due to the heavy weight and long stroke of the cast iron plate, the cutting speed should not be selected too high. It is necessary to adjust the length of the stroke during operation, and it is required that the tool can cut into the flat plate at low speed at the beginning of the work stroke, then the tool can cut out the cast iron plate at low speed at the end of the work stroke.

The choice of tool

1). flat-end precision planer. The cutting edge of this tool is wide and straight, which is suitable for precision planing and semi-precision planing of cast iron T slotted plate.

2). mechanically clamped pointed planer. Suitable for rough machining or semi-finish machining of cast iron plates.

Clamping of the cast iron T slotted plate

The clamping method of the cast iron plate should be determined according to the shape of the plate. If there are steps or grooves at both ends of the cast iron plate, a pressing plate can be used to lay pressure there. If the two ends of the work plate cannot be placed on the pressure plate, the plate can be clamped with inclined iron or screw support. The cast iron plate is installed between the two columns of the gantry planer, so that the distance between the two sides of the cast iron plate and the two sides of the workbench is approximately equal, and the side of the cast iron plate is aligned with the side of the workbench to be approximately parallel with the side of the workbench.

During rough machining, because the bottom surface of the cast iron plate is a rough surface (rough reference), in order to facilitate the alignment of the cast iron plate processing plane parallel to the work surface, and to protect the work surface, pads of equal height should be placed on the four corners of the cast iron plate Iron, the four corners of the plate should be on the same plane.
