The influence of the cutting of cast iron floor plate on the quality of heat-treated workpieces
2021-05-26 17:10:11

The hardness of the cast iron floor plate is lower than 45HRC in the state of quenching and tempering, annealing, and normalizing of the workpiece. The quality of the workpiece including surface finish, residual stress, machining allowance, and removal of the surface decarbonization and carbon-poor layer is not obvious. , Will not cause changes in the potential performance of the workpiece.

The cast iron floor plate processes hardened steel on the workpiece, which is also called hard machining, and the hardness of the workpiece is as high as 50~65HRC. The impact of cutting is more obvious. Factors such as the generation and conduction of cutting heat, high-speed friction and wear during the cutting process will all cause damage to the machined surface. The integrity of the machined surface during hard cutting mainly includes the surface texture, hardness, surface roughness, dimensional accuracy, residual stress distribution and white layer generation.

The hardness of the machined surface of the cast iron floor plate increases with the increase of the cutting speed, and decreases with the increase of the cutting amount. And the higher the hardness of the machined surface, the larger the hardened layer. The results show that the uniform residual compressive stress on the surface of the workpiece after hard cutting, while the large compressive stress of the workpiece after grinding is mainly concentrated on the surface of the workpiece.

The larger the obtuse angle radius of the tool, the greater the value of residual compressive stress; the higher the hardness of the workpiece, the larger the value of residual compressive stress. The hardness of the workpiece has a great influence on the surface integrity of the workpiece. The greater the hardness of the workpiece, the more conducive to the formation of residual compressive stress.

Another important factor that affects the surface quality of the hard-cutting of the cast iron plate is the formation of the white layer. The white layer is a structure formed by the hard cutting process. It has wear characteristics: on the one hand, it has high hardness and good corrosion resistance; on the other hand, it shows high brittleness, which is easy to cause early spalling failure, and even After forming the workpiece, it cracks after being placed for a stage.
