The mold of the mold can be used multiple times, and castings can be obtained every time the molten metal is injected, with long life and high production efficiency. The metal mold casting has good dimensional accuracy, not only the surface is shiny, but also when the same molten metal is injected, the strength of the casting is higher than that of the sand mold, and it is not easy to damage. Therefore, in the mass production of non-ferrous metals, for small castings, as long as the melting point of the casting material is too high, metal casting is generally preferred.

 

However, in the metal mold casting, the heat-resistant alloy steel and the processing of forming a hollow cavity on it are expensive. Therefore, although the mold of the mold is expensive, it is also relatively cheap compared with the die-casting mold.For small batch production, the mold cost allocated to each product is obviously too high, which is generally unacceptable.

 

In addition, because the mold is limited by the size of the mold material, the cavity processing equipment, and the capacity of the casting equipment, it is not powerful especially for larger castings. Therefore, metal mold casting is rarely used in small batch and large batch production. In addition, the metal mold is made of heat-resistant alloy steel, which has limited heat resistance. It is mostly used in the casting of aluminum alloys, zinc alloys, and magnesium alloys. However, it is not used much in the casting of copper alloys and less used in the casting of ferrous metals.
