The cleaning process is to clean the casting from the mold after the casting of the cast iron platform is cooled to obtain a casting with no defects on the surface.

(1) Shaking out: The casting must be fully cooled before the mold can be pulled out, and the general requirement is not less than 3h. If the time is too short, surface chilling will occur and the hardness will be higher, then cutting will be difficult. When the casting is large, thermal cracking may occur, and the internal stress of the casting may be relatively large, which may easily cause deformation and affect the overall dimensions of the casting.

 

(2) Sand cleaning: To obtain castings with good surface finish, small parts can be cleaned by drums to remove the sand on the surface. The large parts are shot blasted to remove the sand on the surface. The sticky sand on the non-machined surface must be cleaned up to prevent it from entering the bearing chamber after it falls off when it is loaded into the finished product and moves, which will adversely affect the use of the bearing.

 

(3) Aging treatment: General castings must be aged to reduce the internal stress of the castings and obtain good performance.

 

(4) Control of the inspection process: Through inspection, feedback the defects of castings, find and analyze the reasons, and take timely measures to reduce the occurrence of casting defects.
